Kadaknath is only Black Meat Chicken (B.M.C.) Breed of India. It is a native bird of Madhya Pradesh. The commonly available colours of kadaknath are jet-black, pencilled and golden. The bird is very popular mainly due to its adaptability to the local environment, disease resistance, tasty meat quality, texture and flavour. Though the flesh of this breed is black, it is considered not only a delicacy of distinctive taste, but also of medicinal value.

  • Protein content in kadaknath is higher than 25% in an ordinary bird it varies between 18-20%.

Free Range

We keep our chickens in open space so that they scavenge and live naturally.  The benefits are also a reduced growth rate and opportunities for natural behaviour such as pecking, scratching, foraging and exercise outdoors, as well as fresh air and daylight. Because they grow slower and have opportunities for exercise free-range chickens have better leg and heart health and a much higher quality of life.

Kadaknath is a jungle fowl and very resistant to diseases and thus don’t require vaccination. It grows naturally and takes almost 6 months and thus don’t requires growth hormone or antibiotics for faster growth. Due to natural growth it is healthy and free from residues.

Japanese Quail(Coturnix japonica)


The Japanese quailCoturnix japonica, is a species of Old World quail found in East Asia. Japanese quails have a strong family life. Quails build sturdy nests on the ground, usually hidden under vegetation. While the female does most of the nest-building and egg incubation (21-25 days), the male often assists her and helps take charge of the young. Young quails run and are able to catch food for themselves within a few hours of hatching. Baby quails peep to each other as they feed, to keep the group together. In nature, quails remain in family groups. As the young birds mature, the families mingle with flocks of 100 or more birds who stay together and protect one another.

Our Farm

We have started our farm in Madhya Pradesh focused on two species - Kadaknath (chicken) and Japanese Quail(Jungle Fowl). We have many more types of chickens such as Assel,  Nicobari, etc. We have created a free range home for all birds so that they will get freedom to express their natural behaviour and grow naturally. To ensure good health we prepare our own feed using organic produce from our farms. Feed is composed of ayurvedic herbs, azolla, protein and carbohydrates from legumes and soya products. All these mixed in a scientifically defined ratio which makes our birds healthy and happy.
